In 19th century France, Jean Valjean, a man imprisoned for stealing bread, must flee a relentless policeman named Javert. The pursuit consumes both men's lives, and soon Valjean finds himself in the midst of the student revolutions in France.

He began his career in British television productions in the early 1980s, and as the decade progressed he became an in-demand charismatic support actor. He died aged 49 on 2nd July 2003.
